Biography:

Robert S. Davis, Jr. was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1978.  He received his BFA in sculpture and drawing from Stephen F. Austin State University, in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 2002.  His MA in sculpture and painting came from the same university in 2006.  While at SFA, Robert had exhibited in eight shows, not including graduation exhibits, and received recognition by the artists, MANUAL (2007), Sandy Skoglund (2002), and Donald Sultan (2001).  His has also shown in the 2006 Texas National juried by Paul Brach.  Between his BFA and MA degrees he crafted several sculptures for a local artist, and assisted in the restoration of one of Claus Oldenburg’s Geometric Mouse variations.  Robert graduated from the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma, in 2010 with an MFA in sculpture.  During his time at OU he received the OVAC Award in 2009, and the FJJMA Docent Award in 2010.  He will be featured in the Fall 2011 Studio Visit Magazine.  His sculpture, Forefathers, has been gifted into the private collection of Arthur Ganson.  Robert teaches at the University of Central Oklahoma.
